LAKE COUNTY, FLA. — The mother and boyfriend arrested after taking her battered and bruised child to the hospital are facing more charges, this time in the abuse of the 10-year-old’s sibling.
Kimberley Mills and Andre Walker now face two counts of aggravated child abuse, two counts of child neglect, one count of tampering with evidence, and two counts of accessory to aggravated child Abuse.
Tavares police said Friday the 10-year-old boy remains to be in critical condition after being dropped off at Florida Hospital Waterman. “We are preparing for the worst but hoping for the best in terms of his recovery,” Detective Courtney Sullivan said.
“These charges mean that both Kimberley Mills and Walker participated in torturing and abusing these two children. We are working closely with the State Attorney’s Office to ensure that these two boys get the justice that they deserve,” she said.
