LAKE COUNTY, FLA. – The State Attorney’s Office this week scored a victory over a couple charged with numerous sex crimes against two children.
Richard Hutcheson, 38, was convicted and sentenced to three life terms without the possibility of parole, and his 41-year-old wife, Brittany, to five years’ probation for each of three felony charges.
“This case has caused profound emotional and psychological harm to the victims and their family. The Mount Dora Police Department remains deeply committed to supporting victims of abuse and holding offenders accountable, a city spokeswoman said in a press release.
The couple was living in two tents in the woods in Mount Dora in 2020 when they were arrested.
During their investigation police learned that there were efforts to produce pornography, but it is unclear from court records if it involved the children. There were charges, however, of exposing the children to harmful materials.
There were multiple charges of rape of children younger than 12, molestation and other offenses.
