Thomas Jefferson said, “We do not have government by the majority. We have government by the majority who participate.”
I saw one post on social media by a person who said they were not going to vote because the election is going to be stolen anyway.
Show me the evidence. Let’s don’t let our divided politics, conspiracy theories and legitimate disappointment in government discourage us from trying to elect responsible people to office.
Of course, we need to be informed.
Jefferson noted: ”…democracy cannot exist without enlightenment.”
He also said, “When the people are well-informed they can be trusted with their own government.”
We are bombarded with twenty-second broadcast shots of name-calling, lies and exaggerations. No wonder people are turned off, but giving power to the wrong people is inexcusable. Do the research. Pray. Vote.
